Maurya, and fellow alums,
Thanks for the tip about Dr. Dickenson and the historical research. We will follow up on that! We have discovered so far that the buildings existed in 1939 as the "La Casita de Maria" apartments, and then from the late 1950s on they were used by several fraternities and sororities.
Susan Irwin, the new Program Manager, is working (probably as I write) to get the current Alumni Group's flyer and information posted to the SIRLS Website. And soon we are also going to upload a new e-newsletter that should be of interest.
How to join: According to the pre-existing flyer, there are two types of membership: annual and lifetime.
Annual membership costs $10.00 and
lifetime membership costs $200.00.
Either way, make the check payable to "U of A Foundation/SIRLS" and send it and the following information to:
SIRLS Alumni & Friends Council
1515 E. First St.
Tucson, AZ 85719
We'll need your name, the year you graduated, your mailing address, e-mail address, and if you wish, your phone number.
And if you want to be listed in the SIRLS Alumni Directory, the form is online at http://timon.sir.arizona.edu/alumni/alumform.html Your home address and other personal info will not get listed in the directory, just your name, graduating class, and current work info. The actual directory is posted at
http://timon.sir.arizona.edu/alumni/directory.html and it is a pretty amazing document.
